In case you haven’t checked your inbox yet, today is Cyber Monday, a day when online shoppers compare prices for 12 TVs, 7 doorbells, and 18 sets of headphones. Once you’ve filled your shopping cart, celebrate Giving Tuesday this week by donating to your favorite charity. This Wednesday is World AIDS Day, so consider donating to the National AIDS Trust if you want to support a great cause. If you’re looking for other ways to give for Giving Tuesday, this Sunday is International Volunteer Day.

Light it up

Appropriately, this year’s Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting event falls on National Christmas Lights Day. Coincidence? Kind of. Tune in to NBC at 8 pm on Wednesday. One thing that won’t be getting lit up this week is the sun - let me explain. There’s a total solar eclipse taking place on Saturday. If eclipse light and Christmas lights aren’t your thing, how about a light snack on National Cookie Day? The world of college football is set for a big weekend, starting Friday with the Pac 12 Championship, followed on Saturday with the SEC, ACC, Big 12, and Big Ten Championship Games. After a busy weekend, we’ll find out the matchups for the Playoff Semifinals at the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic and Capital One Orange Bowl, as well as the PlayStation Fiesta and Chick-fil-A Peach bowl pairings on Selection Day. We’ll add those to Forekast when they’re announced.
