While Memorial Day might have marked the unofficial start of summer, this week that nearly perfect ball of hot plasma we call the sun officially dictates the beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere. Some call it the first day of summer, nerds like us call it the June Solstice. You can also celebrate Midsummer (which isn’t really the middle of summer at all), or for the festive and Workaholics fans among us, June 25 is Half Christmas.
